● Ile aux Cerfs is a very popular island situated on the east coast and was first discovered by the Dutch. It has clear, calm waters and long beaches fringed by filaos trees and is easily accessible by boat from Trou d'Eau Douce. Tickets for boat transfers are available on site. It is a popular day trip for both tourists and locals alike. It is a great place to snorkel and dive. Avoid visiting in week ends as it gets very crowdy. The island is equipped with a bar, two restaurants and tourist shops.
There are a few nice hiking trails. If you want to enjoy the sunshine and relax on the beaches, it is better to move away from the restaurants and other over-commercialized areas. The other beaches are isolated, quiet and not overpopulated and you will find a place to relax and sun tan.
