● Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Botanical Gardens ( also called Pamplemousses Botanical Gardens ) and situated at about 7 miles (11 km) northeast of Port Louis.They date back to 1735 when the Governor of the colony Mahe de Labourdonnais started a vegetable garden for his chateau Mon Plaisir still existing in the heart of these magnificent gardens.

The garden boasts as much as 500 species of indigenous and exotic plants including ginger, nutmeg, camphor, golden bamboo, sandalwood, cinnamon, chewing-gum trees, fish poison trees, a Buddha tree supposed to be 200 years old, palms, ebony, mahogany, and latanier trees, just to name a few. There is no entrance free but please hire a guide when visiting. These guides are former workers in the garden and know every plant and flower.
● Grand Bay is on of the most popular tourist resorts as it was first to experience the tourist boom. Due to this fact, some aspects of Grand Bay are typical of all tourist attractions. It has excellent markets, a variety of fashion and craft shops, and a hypermarket close by. There are amazing seafood restaurants with bars and discotheques. ● Pereybère is another popular tourist resort, few minutes drive, ahead of Grand Bay . Its pretty small bay is a bath reputed in the entire island for its soft and calm ripples, fine sand and clean seabed. You can have a trip in one of these glass- bottom boats to admire the corals of the lagoon. Snorkeling at the right hand side of the bay is a feast for children and adults. It hosts some restaurants, pubs and internet cafés and offers various shopping facilities.
● Cap Malheureux is a picturesque spot in Northern Mauritius and a nice vantage point for its view of Coin de Mire and Round Island . Boats can be hired for a trip to these islands or for snorkeling and fishing.. There is a red roofed chapel at the scenic point next to the sea where you can see a stunning landscape. This chapel is a landmark and is worth a visit. It is also here that the British landed on the 6 th November1810 to conquer the island, 4 months after their defeat in the battle of Vieux Grand Port.

Triolet Shivala is situated in the longest village on the island, Triolet, and is the biggest Hindu temple built in 1819. It is worth a visit.
